I had seen electric fireplaces before...and they were truly awful. Had researched these online and of course, most sounded "great". We have an older fireplace in a condo. We did not want to have to inspect the flue annually (plus it wouldn't heat efficiently anyway). Adding a natural gas line was prohibitive. We primarily wanted to add a pleasing aesthetic feature to the room. Decided to try it because it has a generous return policy. Why not? This product did that and more! It was as easy to setup. If you can plug in a toaster oven, then you're ready for this! The flames and embers are as real as they get without the absolute "real thing". My partner was reaching in to turn on the heater...and I said, "Be careful...it's hot"! Now folks, that's realistic. My only con is getting an expired/dead battery for the remote control. Everyone who has seen it is so very impressed. Some have criticized this unit as not providing enough heat. Our principal use for this set is aesthetic; not heat. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone. It answered our needs perfectly.

Absolutely love this fireplace! If you do not use your fireplace and it just sits there empty, well than this is the perfect fit! It has the most realistic flame on an electric fireplace. Our fireplace is now the center piece of our living room. I do wish it had a better fan for the heater but we hardly turn the heat on! Best thing about it, we can run it year around!!

Set this up for my parents for Christmas. They were thrilled and could not thank me enough. Fit perfect in existing fire place. They did wish the remote worked the heat, just not on and off.
