The Saturn Fire Pit reminds us of its namesake planet Saturn with the spectacular ring feature in the night sky. The fire pit ring is a convenient resting spot for a beverage or as a footrest as the embers glow under a full moon. This outdoor fire pit is safe to use on wood or composite decking with a one and one half inch thick stone base that should be approximately three feet square (see accessories tab).
Built to last, these large fire pits are made from ¼" thick solid carbon steel and can be left outside year-round and require no maintenance even in cold, harsh environments. The artist has applied iron oxide patina on the outside and the interiors are hand rolled with a dense high temperature resistant coating and have a one and one half inch diameter rain drain in the bottom. All designs are easily adapted to propane or natural gas. Each fire pit is hand crafted and individually numbered on a small brass plaque attached to the base ring, making them unique and a sure conversation piece to any outdoor space!

Rick Wittrig was born and raised in a tiny Mennonite farming village amid the endless sea of corn and soybeans that is the Illinois prairie. He learned steel fabrication and carpentry skills building farm equipment and homes.
Admiring the strong work ethic, high quality products and integrity of the craftsman with whom he worked, Rick carries those values into creating his functional steel art. He now lives on Barton's Creek in Tennessee with his family and enjoys making beautiful fire pits for others to enjoy.
