We stopped using our wood-burning fireplace in the basement family room many years ago for several reasons: the hassle and mess of real firewood, concerns about emissions, and the long wait for a real fire to generate any heat. We considered converting to a gas fireplace, but decided that the cost was not justified by the amount of time that we would actually be using it. So, when we found this vintage-looking, free-standing stove, it was the perfect solution for our needs. We turn on the stove when we are in the room and find that we are nice and toasty... and that we can leave the thermostat at a lower setting. Life is good!

This is a very pretty fireplace and provides great heat. This fireplace warms our 18 x 24 FROG (family room over garage) by 5 degrees-making a room we never used our favorite room in the house. It would have been nice if it had a timer and/or the option to use just the heat and not the flame-but the flame is very nice.

My Celeste with its realistic and welcoming flame and warmth reminds me of the wood-burning stove in a former home, but without chopping wood or emptying ashes! None of my friends could believe the flame was artificial; and everyone loves the instant warmth. After having my Celeste for one month last winter, my heating bill was reduced from $120.00 to under $60.00. It adds such a homey feeling to my living room, especially when snow is falling outside. And in the summer I can enjoy the "flame" at night while turning off the heater. It's been a great investment!

Really happy with my new little bedroom stove, it is so pretty and I especially like the remote control and the air filter that is included. Regarding the color, when they say cream, they don't mean off-white, they mean pale, pale yellow. It's hard to see this in the picture. I wish it were off-white instead so probably will paint it. We use it every night for zone heating and set the central heat low. I'm happy I made this purchase!
