This review is for the Sahara. Really a beautiful unit. I own several electric fireplaces (ClassicFlame, Bionaire). Dimplex makes the best quality units hands down. Pro: Construction is solid, USA made quality levels, but made in China. There is little rattling. Beautiful appearance is made possible by close tolerances seams are tight, fan blade is balanced,near silent. Flames are so life like. Glass is thick and hardy in appearance, brushed aluminum frame is beautiful Con: Shaft that rotates the aluminum bristles squealed for the first couple hours of use. It is dead quiet now. Thermostat is terrible. Unless your room is -40F the thermostat must be rotated to the highest setting to operate. It can be recalibrated though it requires the removal of the heater unit and knowledge of bimetal thermostats. 2 tiny micro screws one on the top and one on bottom. Top controls when unit comes one and bottom if probably when the unit shuts off. All in all a pretty solid unit. Large and heavy.

One of the most popular wall mounted electric fireplaces. The three colors of sand add a unique twist to the standard fire. Use flame effect by alone or warm a room with the 1500 watt heater. Great for kitchens, hallways, baths, lobbies etc. Installs with a simple hanging bracket. Take it out of the box, mount, plug in and you are ready to enjoy.
Bottom line: Super name brand choice (Dimplex) - Sand effect provides a dramatic effect

Photo of flame color is not accurate! I had to order amber/orange bulbs to achieve a yellowish flame color. Should have probably ordered red bulbs to get a good orange color. Everyone says it looks fake. Puts out very little heat, but the ambience is nice at night. Also, makes a dull rattling sound when left on for hours. I would not recommend this model!
