FedEx provided constant updates and delivered the stove in perfect condition. It was extremely well packaged. I also spoke with Dimplex and again they could not have been more helpful.We are extremely pleased with our stove, the flames are very realistic, the unit is very attractive, and it heats up the room quickly and maintains an even temperature. Love it. Most realistic illusion of any electric fireplace. I returned two DuraFlame "stoves" due to the illusion doesn't even compare to the Dimplex. Fun to use and actually DOES add ambience d/t the realism of the illusion.
Heats 500 sq ft of my 750 sq ft apartment very well, quickly and without hot spots. Set it on a timer so I don't even have to think about it. The remaining 250 sq ft (bedroom) is around a corner/foyer - still receives heat, but as one would expect, not a lot. I plan to purchase another, smaller Dimplex for my bedroom. Coldest nights here run down to the high 30's on rare occasions - I have a drafty, older apartment and the "average" colder night is mid-40's.
The ONLY feature I would like to see is a dimmer for the "flame". Not a big deal but the "flames" can be a bit bright in a completely darkened room and I admit I prefer complete control over my lighting (dimmers on all my light fixtures). Other than that I can't think of ANY reason not to buy the Dimplex.
Can't comment reliably upon the durability. I've only owned this one stove for a month.
