The flame looks and feels like a wood fire,no smell at all,have had others that smelled toxic.Very costly, this was the very best deal I could find and will always buy from them unless a better deal comes along.Don't use as often as I would like because of the cost but I LOVE MY REAL FLAME FIREPLACE.
