I installed ours about a year ago..if you make the hole the correct size you just slide it in. Only problem I had was with radio interference for the remote. I went to the dimplex site and had the fix in seconds. I do wish I could use the heat without the fireplace at times but that's no a big issue as it looks great. Just what I needed for a poorly heated room.

This is a new firebox that is a landscape size made to go into entertainment centers for 2 reasons. 1. it has a smaller wattage output so you can have all your media components and firebox on the same circuit. 2. The rectangular size fits with most new wide-screen tv's as far as looks go. Comes with remote.

We installed the fireplace into a built in wall unit. The fireplace box was sized for the unit and fit great. There was not mention of the side tabs in the instruction for where to locate the unit front to back. The unit looks realistic. I agree with an earlier post - for the price differnece to Classic Flame, they should use non-glare glass to cut down the reflection.
All in all, great unit just over priced to the competition.

I used this fireplace to place into some built-ins that I had made specifically to accommodate an electric fireplace. I did extensive searching for reviews and videos online. It's actually somewhat difficult to find videos of a lot of the electric fireplaces which is surprising because I would never buy one of these without seeing what the flame looked like first.
After seeing a Youtube video someone had made about this fireplace, I decided to move forward. I didn't care about the heater, I just cared about a realistic flame. This electric fireplace has the most realistic flame effect I've ever seen. It's pretty amazing. I was also will to pay for the realism, but not as much as say...the Dimplex Optimyst cost.
Anyways, so far I love it. Super easy to install...took less than 15 minutes probably.

It was delivered intact and on time, looks as described. I wish it put out more heat. And I wish the heat came fromthe bottom, not the top of the unit. Other than that, we're happy. Felt it was a bit expensive for what we got....

I installed it in a masonry fireplace that I never used

I would avoid using UPS freight. It was supposed to come one day, than they lost it,than it traveled around a couple states,and than another week later it finally showed up(slightly damaged) but I was able to fix it.When I called UPS they thought it was funny (I didnt.)
