Standard wood types for each fireplace mantel are shown below. The very best pieces of wood are chosen while building your mantel to ensure the highest quality hand-crafted product available. All decorative trim, crown molding and carved or fluted lengths used in the construcion of our wood mantels and shelves are solid "wood of choice." To help insure against warpage and, because it is better suited to potenially high heat situations, mantel top and other flat boards may be constructed of a high quality wood product with a furniture grade veneer in the "wood of choice."
