Fireplace Surround Facing Kits Installation Instructions
Installing your granite, marble or slate fireplace surround kit is simple! Follow these 4 easy steps and you will be ready to enjoy your new fireplace surround facing kit.You will need the following tools and materials to install your facing kit: 2-3 10.3 Fl. Oz. Leech F-26 Waterproof Construction Adhesive (Available from Mantels Direct - Select States ONLY) Micore Board  Pencil Tape Measure Carefully unpack the hearth, header, legs and riser (if applicable) from the box and inspect for damage that may have occurred during shipment. You have the option of displaying your shelf with corbels (Option 1), or shelf alone (Option 2). This mantel shelf comes with optional corbels. If you decide to use the corbels, continue reading. You have the option of installing your shelf alone (Option 1), shelf with corbels (Option 2), or shelf with corbels and arch (Option 3). This mantel shelf comes with optional corbels as well as an optional arch base. If you decide to use the corbels, continue reading. Traditional Wood Mantel Shelf Installation Instructions
You will need the following tools and materials to build your mantel shelf 1 - 3/4" x 2" Mounting Boards (included) 8 - Penny Finish Nails Drill Hammer Pencil Tape Measure Step 1 - Location of Shelf Mounting Bracket Place the shelf on the wall above your fireplace or on the wall at the desired height. Level the shelf and draw a line on the wall at the top of the shelf. Remove the shelf and measure down 2-3/4" from the line and draw a second line on the wall parallel to the first line. Marble Mantel Surrounds Installation Instructions
You will need the following tools and materials to build your mantel: 2 x 4 x 6' Acrylic Caulk Caulk Gun Construction Adhesive Level Power Drill Tape Measure Wood Screws (8) Step 1 - Mark the center of the firebox and the wall. Step 2 - Measure the width of the hearth and mark the center. Dry fit and mark for placement. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the hearth. Set the hearth stone in place and align the center marks. Step 3 - Locate the riser piece (if using) and dry fit it on top of the hearth. Classic Stone Mantel Surrounds Installation Instructions
Classic Stone Cast Stone Mantel Kits contain components for a typical installation, and include: mantel components (legs and shelf), facing panels (header, legs) (included on Builder Kits, optional on others) and a hearth (included on Builder Kits, optional on others). If facing panels and hearth are not supplied by Mantels Direct, please ensure the non-combustible facing panels located immediately around the firebox opening are built-up to a .75" thickness and extend at least 1" behind the inside edges of the mantel components.
